By establishing a digital repository that is accessible to all staff and to the public through our website, we can greatly increase access to Heritage Malta’s collections.
Interpretation
Using digital media, curators and staff can develop exhibitions and features that explore our collections in new and exciting ways. These can take the form of video masterclasses and webinars, 360 degree interactive tours, or virtual exhibitions placed within VR models of Heritage Malta sites. The possibilities for specially curated education programmes are enormous through sharing digital resources, via 3D printing in the classroom, or specially designed apps tailored to the school curriculum.
All of these possibilities point toward Heritage Malta becoming a leading source of information for academic research, education, and digital expertise locally and internationally, placing the Digitisation Department at the forefront of digital innovation within the agency.
